Yes, I chose the pat down today

....at the airport, that is. I don't know if you all have noticed but there has been a new norm at the airport--an increase of x-ray emissions and radiation from the machines we are expected to go through to assure all of our security. I went through one of these in Minneapolis heading out on Tuesday to Pittsburgh to just see if my body could feel the energy that comes from those machines. I took the chance to be exposed to more radiation. I have been exposed to enough in my life, in fact we all have been exposed to a lot. Like every time we have gone to a doctor or dentist. So, the fact that this is now a norm to security at the airports is ridiculously. So, your option is to do a pat down. So you are alienated by taken aside and asked these questions of you and touched on every part of your body all because you choose not go to through the x-ray machine. Did we really need to put these types of machines now in airports? I am really curious to do some more research on them and also wonder about the employees who have to work by these machines every day....so, yes I was probably the only person in the Pittsburgh airport today who saw the sign that says,"step into the x-ray security and your alternative is to have a pat down," and chose the alternative. But if we all started to say we aren't going in the machine and choose a pat down, it would slow down the lines, take more airport staff, and who knows maybe it would cause the airport to reconsider this in my opinion, unnecessary and unethical choice to travel. I am all about us being safe when we travel, but when is too far, too far?

Self-care--giving your body what it truly needs

I get a massage almost every week no matter where I am, eat a healthy diet, schedule time alone, and if I get to a point where I feel I need a block of time...I'll cancel.
-- Anne Wilson Schaef

Do we love and care for our body as well as we love and care for our home and car? Do we feel our body deserves full attention and a loving maintenance plan?

Taking our body for granted is easy because of its remarkable durability and regenerative power. We may get lulled into a false sense of "nine lives" body security, believing our physical being will fix itself no matter what.

Self-care takes time and priority planning to be successful. We may find we put off our exercise and nutritional needs saying, "Tomorrow I'll start taking better care of myself." But sooner or later tomorrow comes, and our body produces symptoms that demand attention.

Learning to love and nurture our body brings rewards without measure. We deserve to reap the benefits starting today.

Prayer: Today let me realize that respect for my body builds a healing temple in which the rest of my life can grow.

Do you need help loving your body? I can help.

"A woman's relationship with her body is the most important relationship she will ever have. More important than husband, lover, children, friends, colleagues. This isn't selfishness--it's just a fact. The body is, quite literally, our vehicle for being--for giving, for loving, for moving, for feeling--and if it doesn't work, it's fairly certain that nothing else in our lives will work either."

Ladies, do you need help loving your body? Do you wonder what that even means or how to go about having a loving relationship with your body? I can help! This is what I help my clients to do--to learn to love their bodies and all of who they are. Lord's Prayer in Aramaic (translated)

Oh you, breathing life in all, origin of the gleaming sound,
You shine in us and around us, even the darkness glows
when we remember.

Help us to draw a holy breath, in which we feel only you
and your sound ring in us and purify us.

May your counsel rule our lives and make our intentions
clear for the common creation.

May the burning wish of your heart unify heaven
and earth through our harmony.

Grant us daily the bread and insight that we need:
What is necessary for the call of growing life.

Release the cords of the errors that bind us,
as we let go of that which binds us to the faults of others.

Do not let superficial things lead us astray
but instead free us from that which holds us back.

From you come the all-effective will,
the living strength to act, and the song that beautifies
everything and which renews itself form age to age.

True vitality to these testimonies!
May they be the ground out of which all my actions grow.

Sealed in trust and faith.

Amen

~Lord's prayer in Aramaic

Radical Action

This is how the process should work, your intuition
should guide you into forming a right intention, you
should take note of that intention and your physical
and emotional bodies should translate that intention
into the appropriate action.

This is the only way to ensure that your intention is
the right one in the first place and that the subsequent
action is the correct one to follow that intention. Otherwise,
life may carry you off on a journey that you are not too keen
on traversing. Life only flows as it should when we intend
and act as we should.

The best thing you can ever do is to implicitly trust your
intuition, one hundred percent. If you can do this, you
will not need to spend all your time intending because
you will automatically do what you need to do, without
any questions. It will happen naturally, as the Universe
commands, you will follow the Universe's lead.

When you trust and follow your intuition, everything
you need to do in life becomes instinctive, like taking
a step, or taking a breath or blinking an eye. You do
not think or mull over it for hours, you do not pine
and whine for it, you just do it. Your intentions and
actions become one, without any hesitation. You think
as you should and do as you should and your life flows
exactly as it should."

Seeds of Trees

"It's common to say that trees come from seeds. But how can
a tiny seed create a huge tree? Seeds do not contain the
resources needed to grow a tree. These must come from
the medium or environment within which the tree grows.

But the seed does provide something that is crucial : a place
where the whole of the tree starts to form. As resources
such as water and nutrients are drawn in, the seed organizes
the process that generates growth. In a sense, the seed is
a gateway through which the future possibility of the living
tree emerges."
